Les axes de symétrie

In today's math assignment we explored different ways of identifying les axes de symétrie. We traced and cut out shapes and used folding creases as well as miras. Ask your child about shapes in your home and if they see any axes de symétrie or how they could find out for sure if there is one!

Les pionniers

As a pioneer inquiry project, our class came up with some good questions we wanted to know more about. We used the iPads to research and organized what we thought and discovered on chart paper. We later had a promenade de gallerie where we shared our thoughts on each other's research.

Symétrie

We have been exploring shapes with les axes de symétrie. Here, we drew half of a decorated Oeuf de Pâques and used the miras to complete the other side.

L'aire

This is an older picture from one of our measurement activities at the end of February. Students had to create shapes using square tiles and their friends had to calculate l'aire. The shapes were creative because they were trying to stump each other!
